The MG Nests are simply 2 infantry men operating a heavy machine gun.  They are effective against pretty much everything you can throw at it.  The MG Nest is a good basic air defense but mostly excels against other infantry.  They are pretty tough, not like regular infantry but not quite as tough as a commando.  These things do serious damage, it's the unit that ticks off the most player along with the Rocket Fist.  I've seen players use only MG Nests but they get slaughtered by a few well leveled snipers.

The MG is one unit that everyone likes.  It's rather cheap to operate and upgrade, it does very reasonable damage on anything and doesn't fall easy.  There's also not a whole lot of units that can do some serious damage to it compared to other units.  Many new players don't understand that the MG Nest in NOT a structure, it is considered infantry and needs anti-infantry units to do best.
