GDI Commando


The GDI Commando


The GDI Commando is a very useful unit.  If you don't like the way other structure busters attack at a long range, hence wasting ammo, then this is the unit for you.  It's got a very tough armor and does some serious damage to any structures it touches.  Since the commando is an infantry unit, getting it in enemy territory can be a daunting task.  Most of the time it is used to get rid of annoying structures in the front lines and along with a few special upgraded rifleman squads, will pave the way for other units to get through.  

They can withstand a lot of firepower but still fall if left alone.  Its defense, on a level to level basis, is about twice as strong as regular infantry but won't pose much problems for other infantry on a one on one basis.

The commando is a unit I recently started using more since the Firehawk nerf and repair time increase.  So far, I am pleased with them when used in conjunction with Juggernauts but do best in threes.  If you put them in a vertical row, will cut a nice trail to the Construction Yard.  They are also a peach to work with if you "trick" the game and have all anti-infantry units go out to one side.  Also, if the commando is of a higher level than infantry, can do some serious damage against a few of them.  Worth getting especially if you want to use other units than Firehawks.
